With a 2-0 win at the Mikhaylov Academy, HK Riga celebrates its second victory in a row in the MHL.

After the win in Moscow, the HK Riga team wanted to take more points in the game against the Mikhaylov Academy. For the “Akademiker” it was the first game of the season.

In the first period both teams neutralized each other, there were many chances, but no goals. The logical consequence was a 0-0 at the first break. In the second period, too, there was the same playful picture. Lots of good chances on both sides, only no goals, as both goalies had a strong day.

It wasn’t until the final period that Riga got into the game even better and was able to convert the opportunities into goals. After a pass from Mateiko, Raven took the lead to 1-0 (48.). This goal gave the team even more momentum and just five minutes later Polcs scored 2-0 (53.) – the preliminary work came from Bucenieks. After this goal, the “academics” couldn’t turn the game around and HK Riga celebrated a well-deserved away win.
