The Belarussian club Neman Grodno strengthened with Ugnius Cizas the offensive
In search of a young offensive force, the 7-time Belarusian champion Neman Grodno found what he was looking for. With the 23-year-old Lithuanian Ugnius Cizas, who can be used both as a center and right wing, a player of choice has been committed.
Born in Elektrenai, Ugnius started his career with “PILDYK Vilnius” in the U16 team. He made the leap to Finland via VNA Vilnius and his home club “Energija Elektrena”. In two years at “Sport” Ugnius played in the team of U18 and U20. In 2014 he returns to Lithuania and plays for Zalgiris Vilnius in the MHL-B. A year later for Energija, who participated in both the Lithuanian and in the 2nd Belarusian League. In both leagues he reached the play-offs with his team.
His second stop abroad were the “Hull Pirates” from England. After only one season followed Norway, where Ugnius hired at “Comet Halden”. In the two following years he reached a total of 88 points (32G / 56A). Last season, Ugnus finished with +29, one more reason for Grodno Ugnius to sign a contract.
His career for the Lithuanian national team began in the U18. Ugnius played at seven major U18 and U20 World Championships. Former Lithuanian head coach Bernd Haake made the leap into the A-team, where he played in five more World Cups.
