HK Mogo is strengthening his squad with Renars Kazanovs, Henrijs Ancs and Arturs Homjakovs.

With the 21-year-old Arturs Homjakovs comes a forward from league rivals HK Zemgale to the Latvian champion. Homjakovs comes from the youth team of „SK Riga 17“ and played from 2014 to 2018 in the junior teams of „Venta 2002“ and the HK Riga in the MHL. In the last season he was hunting goals for HK Zemgale. In regular season he scored 23 points (9G/14A) in 31 games. Homkajovs was also in charge of the Latvian U17, U18 and U20 national team. For the senior team, he was recently in the extended squad.

The reigning champion extended with two goalies from last season. The start was made by the 29-year-old Henrijs Acs, who is going into his sixth season for Mogo. Ancs comes from the junior team of Prizma Riga where he played from 2006 to 2014. For the Latvian national team, he was only in a single World Cup with the U18. In the past two years, Ancs has achieved a catch rate of 91.8% (2017-18) and 91.3% (2018-19). Reason enough for Mogo henrijs to equip Ancs with a new contract.

As another goalie Mogo also agreed with the 34-year-old veteran Renars Kazanovs. Thus, both goalies remain the reigning champion. Kazanovs has some interesting stages in his career behind him. From the junior team of Dinamo Juniors in 2009 he came to Germany to Hamburger SV. After only one season, he returns to Latvia to Zemgale. A season later he was in the gate of SMScredit.lv. In the season 2012-13 Kazanovs dared an exotic experiment, he moved to faraway Australia to gain more experience at the „Sydney Bears“. After his recent return to Latvia, he played a season at Kurbads for 2014-15 at HK Mogo. Its catch rate in the past two years has been very good at 93.4% (2017-18) and 93.3% (2018-19). These values were certainly a reason for this extension. Renars Kazanovs, like Henrijs Ancs, goes into his sixth season for Mogo.
