Dinamo Riga has signed a one-season contract with Russian goalkeeper Maxim Tretiak.
The 22-year-old Maxim Tretiak, grandson of the Russian ice hockey legend and Russian ice hockey president Vladislav Tretiak, was already in the preseason at Riga, but only for one game. In December he moved to the current KHL champion CSKA Moscow. Tretiak played in the farm team “Zvezda Moskva” in the VHL. Overall, he completed at Zvezda 12 games and reached with 93.4% (Play-Offs 92.0%) a respectable catch quote.
In the past, the young goalie did not have it easy, but was always strong competition among the teams. His career started promising, probably because of his famous name. Tretiak comes from the youth and juniors of CSKA Moscow. There he alternately played first with “Krasnaya Armiya Moskva” in the MHL, then with “Zvezda Moskva” in the VHL. This was followed by two seasons with Admiral Vladivostok where Tretiak was only used in only 5 games in the KHL. In the season 2017-18 it went back to CSKA and Zvezda, where he played 19 games. For the Russian national team he was in the U17, U18 and U20 in a total of three world championships in the squad. Now Maxim Tretiak gets another chance to present himself.
