Semi-Final 2:

In the second semi-final, Canada and the Czech Republic competed against each other. The Canadians scored “last-second” goals against Slovakia and in the quarter-final against Switzerland, where they equalized 0.04 seconds before the end.

At the beginning there was the usual mutual tactical sampling. With the first good attack, the maple leaves took the lead – Stone steers a shot from Stecher to 1-0 in the goal. (6.). Shortly thereafter, the Czechs had the first power play in this game and goalie Murray got a lot to hold. Shots from Voracek, Frolik and also by Palat, from close range, could defuse the Canadian goalkeeper. After Tripping of Turris, he got a 2-minutes penalty, Czech Republic had the next power play. But again fail Gulas, Frolik and Simon to Murray and the Canadians survive this delicate phase.

In the final period, the Czechs raised the pace and temporarily stuck in the Canadian zone. Waiting for the Canadians and armed for a quick counterattack. Hronek loses the puck to Mantha who started a counterattack with a speed. Shortly before the Czech goal he plays a cross pass to Turris, who scored the 4-0 (47.). The Canadians awarded by Coutourier for now a great opportunity, but shortly after Chabot meets for 5-0 (53.). But not a minute later, the Czechs succeed their goal – Tomas Zohorna scored the 1-5 (54.). This goal came too late and the Canadians played this result over time.

Most recently there was this final mating 2016 in Moscow. At that time, the Canadians against the Finns after a 2-0 win the title of world champion.
