The Swiss had again earned a power play but at the conclusion it did not work. Scherwey drove alone on Georgiev and this was the winner. In power play, the Russians could increase to 2-0, scorer was Kucherov. Hofmann with the chance of the goal, but the Russian goalie was there with the schooner. Even Loeffler could not beat the goalie. The Swiss came through Ambuhl in PowerPlay to a good opportunity, but the Russian goalie did not want to let anything through. The Swiss tried to score the first goal of the match, but there was always a Russian between puck and goal. The passes did not go as well today as in the games before, which allowed the Russians to stand in the way, but Genoni was on hand. A beautiful interaction of the Swiss remained unrewarded. A good boxing play the Swiss prevented another hit for the Russians. Fora with two good chances but the goalkeeper of the Russians did not puck. The Swiss made pressure in the Russian zone, this unfortunately allowed a counterattack for the Russians. Anisimov drove the puck in the direction of Genoni and suits just before the gate to Kucherov and this brought the disc in the gate. Three and a half minutes before the end of the game Patrick Fischer took his goalie off the ice. However, this did not bring the desired success. The Russians won the game 3-0.

Finland are already qualified for the quarter-finals, France are in for more points against relegation. Finland took a 1-0 lead in the first period through Kiviranta (10.). The French could keep the game open. However, Mikkola scored the 2-0 just two minutes after the break (22.) In this game, there was a certain hardship, which also penalties for both teams. The decision was made in the final period, Sallinen scored the 3-0 (53.). With this defeat, France has tomorrow against Great Britain a playoff for the league.
