After yesterday’s defeat to Latvia B, Team Estonia wanted to present themselves better in the retour and final match game ahead of Sunday’s DIV IB World Cup in Tallinn.

The beginning was promising and Estonia was able to playfully open the first period. The Latvians were much more compact and had better chances. Estonia’s goalie was busy, but Estonia took the game and went into the first break 0-0.

Shortly after the break, Latvia had a power play. This was also used and Krastenbergs scored, after pass from Shevchenko, the 1-0 (22.). Estonia immediately pushed for the equalizer, which succeeds a few minutes later. After a pass from Arrak scored Rooba to 1-1 (27.). It went back and forth and after a great individual action meets Jelisejvs to 2-1 for Latvia (36.). Shortly thereafter, Estonia had a power play. That was also the preliminary decision in this game. In another power play for Latvia, it was Karlis Ozolins who increased to 5-1 (43.). The final point was Latvia by Karlis Ozolins. He scored with his second goal in this game the 6-1 (48.). With that, Estonia will go to the World Cup in Tallinn without any preparation. The first opponent is Romania on the 28th of April.
