28-year-old Latvian international Roberts Bukarts will move from HC Trinec to Sparta Prague.
Sparta Prague has strengthened its offensive with Latvian striker Roberts Bukarts. The 28-year-old captain of the Latvian team from the last World Cup comes from HC Trinec in exchange for Petr Vrana.
Bukarts comes with a lot of experience from the KHL where he was involved with Dinamo Riga. He then moved to Zlin for two years before moving to Trinec this season. In the current season, Bukarts played 33 games and scored 19 points (5G / 14A).
“We were looking for a way to strengthen our team for the season and when it came to winning Robert Bukarts, things were going very well.” The season in Trinec did not live up to expectations for the player and club. In addition, Trinec showed interest in Sparta’s Petr Vrana, so Sparta agreed to a player swap.
“Roberts is the right player to step up the offense, first of all he’s a consistent player and we believe he’ll be well established at Sparta,” Bros said of Bukarts. His contract has an option to extend for the 2019/2020 season.
